is a Jazz Soul Singer performing in several bands her mix of Jazz, Soul Funk and Disco Music.

Jazz/soul singer Debbie Davis began her singing career as a young girl in her Native Guyana. Professionally trained, she gained early recognition and was chosen to sing at The Royal Albert Hall as well as to South American President Forbes Burnham. She arrived in the UK in 1976.

Since first bursting into the Edinburgh jazz scene, Debbie Davis has quickly earned a reputation for excellence, versatility and range.

Since re-launching her singing career in 2008 her rise and achievements earned her Runner-Up Best Vocalist title in The Scottish Jazz Awards 2009. Debbie released her first CD “This Midnight Voice’ in the same year and has since made a leap into the jazz scene whe…re she is often seen hosting or sharing the stage with national and international musicians including Barbara Morrison from the Ray Charles band and Arturo Tappin, Roberta Flack’s saxophonist of choice this year at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival.

In the last few years, Debbie has performed in Toronto, released a CD ‘Never Will I Marry’ (available on ITunes), hosted the highly renowned club ‘Vegas’ to a crowd of over 1000 people,and sang at both the Edinburgh and Glasgow’s International Jazz Festivals. She has also fronted Erik Lars Hansen Highlife Band at The Jam House, participated in Belhaven’s Beer Festival,as well as singing at the very prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama .She has sung with a variety of groups and held residencies in numerous Edinburgh venues. She most recently performed at The Ritz Carlton, Istanbul.
